Calvary Goodyear is a local church based in Goodyear, AZ. They had been using a Joomla based CMS and were having difficulty flexing it’s robust administration tools. I was able to provide and direct migration to WordPress. They have automatic Podcast syncing, video playback features, and the ability to customize the site as they see fit.

Revolution Medical Centers operated for a time in the Phoenix Valley. I was contracted to provide them with a corporate identity and master sign program. They were looking for a logo that was holistic as well as clinical.

The “R” graphic has a high tech feel, complimented by a modern, legible type style. The color is inviting and active, giving a youthful approach to the brand. The circle encasing the “cell-dividing R” shows precision and adaptability within its fluid shape This concept is mean to portray Revolution Medical Centers as being at the forefront of their industry and constantly utilizing cutting edge technology and procedures to give their clients the best possible service..

A match made in beer heaven: Come back with us for a moment to 1987. Dan Gordon is one of the most sought-after brewers in the country while Dean Biersch, an experienced restaurateur and beer lover, is searching for a partner to help open a brewery restaurant. A mutual friend arranges a meeting, so they sit down, start talking beer, and the rest is history.

The Modified American Dream: From the get-go, Dan and Dean had a clear vision of what they wanted: a monument to beer, where people could come drink freshly-brewed beer and have a great meal simultaneously. Only authentic, German-style beers would be served, and in the tradition of the ones Dan brewed while attending The Technical University of Munich, or the most renowned brewing school in the world. Beer would be brewed according to Reinheitsgebot (the age-old German Purity Law of beer) with only the finest ingredients: Hallertauer hops, two-row malted barley, and a special yeast strain imported directly from Germany.

Easily one of my top 10 favorite projects of all time, this re-design of Gordon Biersch’s retail packaging was the culmination of time, ideas, and focus. Designed while at Coulthard Identity Group, I had the pleasure of working under my mentor Steve Coulthard, leading design for this project. After meeting with Dan, Dean and team,we were tasked with providing a larger ‘shelf presence’ in the retail market to aid in increasing sales and brand awareness.

Many many concepts, and a few review meetings later, what you see is a crisp and more colorful final product than sat on the shelves just months before. With a very happy client, Steve and I set off on 5 flagship bottles designs, 6 pack carriers, a 12 bottle variety pack and the 24 pack boxes. From concept to presentation to print production, Steve and I managed this process from day 01, upto the color checks in Chico California, ensuring that the final product matched the vision we had for GB’s retail rebrand.

Grace Church is a recent church plant from Sovereign Grace Church, out of Gilbert, AZ.

I was commissioned to lead their logo design. After meeting with their Pastor, Chris Daukas, I was clear with their goals in designing a logo that was (a) geographically appropriate (b) timeless yet contemporary and lastly, focused on the cross of the Christian faith.

This logo have many interesting pieces to it’s meaning. While the colors are easy to decipher as “Arizona” themed by nature, the graphic itself takes the cross an additional step. You’ll notice the vine work behind the cross, significant of Jesus’ teaching in John 15. While the bounding circle to the vines and 2 secondary circles behind it lend a trinitarian feel, the mark as a whole are meant as a water mark. I finished the mark by including a cross that was both modern and yet lent itself as a reminder of this church’s reformed leanings.

Both the Pastor and leadership team were extremely happy with the final result and I am working with them on current branding pieces including signage, internet strategies and corporate identity.

Sovereign Grace Church is a part of Sovereign Grace Ministries. They had been using WordPress and were looking for a site “refresh”. I was able to update their theme, and bring the system to the current version of WordPress. I also provided sermon and calendar plugins, that allowed them to showcase both the audio and video of their sermons messages.

Additionally I committed to on-site training sessions, to ensure that staff was able to update the site without outside support. A great group of people to work with. You can see the finished product at http://sovgracechurch.com.

Customer Testimonial

“If you enjoy working with people who are knowledgeable, proficient, trustworthy, kind and yet, are still willing to listen intently to your ideas and patiently answer your questions then Jason is your man. We were extremely satisfied with his work ethic and professionalism. Moreover, one of the best parts of working with Jason is that he will make you feel like he is a part of your team and wants the best for you. I couldn’t recommend someone higher than him.”

I created this website concept design for Grace Church. Working with Jeff McFadden, who developed the site, I was able to present a visually pleasing concept that addressed the church’s preliminary branding needs. The focus is given to recent sermons, their statement of faith, and a special section to first time visitors who would have na interest in paying a visit.

This site is in process and can be viewed at http://gracechurchaz.org.
